Glulam timber buildings from Hýsi are an excellent choice when it comes to construction speed, thermal performance, simplicity and quality. We use only quality materials in every structure we build.

All design work is focused on delivering well-built structures that meet all building regulation requirements while keeping construction time as short as possible. The buildings are clad with either PIR or rock wool sandwich panels, supplied complete with all flashings, fasteners and screws. Partition walls and/or intermediate floors can be included in the package if required.

Hýsi supplies the buildings as a complete solution from foundation to closed structure — all interior, exterior and industrial doors, along with windows, are included. Installation and construction management are also available on request.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR GLULAM CONSTRUCTION

There is a lot to think through when it comes to the design, material selection and detailing of glulam timber buildings. Hýsi’s team works with clients to develop all the key aspects, so the architect can move forward efficiently to complete the building in a practical and cost-effective way. If required, Hýsi can manage the full design process in collaboration with the client and its partners.

Examples of factors that need to be considered in this regard include:

Design

Architectural drawings, structural engineering, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings and fire safety design.

Structural Frame

Self-supporting frame or lightweight column frame — CNC cut and pre-drilled, finished in the colour of your choice.

Exterior Cladding

PIR or rock wool sandwich panels. Considerations include insulation value, fire rating, acoustics, appearance, colour and coating thickness. Trapezoidal profile cladding with factory-bonded vapour barrier on the interior face to prevent condensation (uninsulated structures). Translucent rooflights to bring natural light into the building. Smoke ventilation.

Partition Walls

Fire resistance requirements: EI60, EI90 and EI120.

Flashings

Flashing colours and profiles.

Design

PVC doors and windows, aluminium doors and windows, industrial door configurations.
